Put your Windows Live Messenger 8.1 to good use. Every time you start a chat with the new version, a portion of the advertising revenue will be shared with some very worthy causes such as: The American Red Cross, Stop Global Warming, National Aids Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, just to name a few.

If you already have Windows Live Messenger, make sure to upgrade to the newer version and then just place a text code corresponding to the cause of your choice into your Display Name.

If you don't use Windows Live Messenger, please give it a try. Microsoft has set no cap on the amount they will donate to each organization. Windows Live Messenger is a pretty good chat client and what better way to help the world then to spend Microsoft's money on something that actually makes a difference.

Thanks go to for sharing this information.

P.S. The "Call Computer" feature of Live Messenger does not work once you have added the text code.
