I made the switch to Thunderbird when Outlook 2007 came out. It was really bad. Thunderbird with Google Contacts, Lightning and Provider for Google Calender extensions gives me everything Outlook does that is of any worth and I also get sync with my Google Apps and integration with my HTC Incredible.

Google just makes it all work seamlessly. I've been looking at Windows Live and syncing with the cloud, but I'm scared to put all the tech eggs in Microsoft's basket.

When my OTA update to 2.2 came and something went wrong and I had to reset my phone several times, then get a new one from Verizon, all I had to do was plug in my Google Apps credentials and wait about a minute or two and I had all my contacts and calendar items back. I love my phone.
